Although robust and durable, joints are precision mechanical devices that require to be used correctly in order to function properly. We recommend the following steps for the correct installation of ROTOFLUX couplings:
In new systems, ensure that the circuit has been cleaned and flushed, i.e. free of machining residues or other abrasive parts. In existing installations, check the functionality of the filter.
Tighten the coupling in a vice on the body side, where there are no bearings, and screw in the hose. (img. 1)
Install the coupling on the machine. (img. 2)
Connect the hose, which is pre-installed on the coupling, to the fluid supply line, ensuring that the hose is not stretched and does not become stretched as the fluid under pressure passes through. (img. 3)
When using metal hoses in confined spaces, it is necessary to use rigid elbows, which allow tight bends without creating abnormal tension. (img. 4)
Ensure that everything is aligned and that the joint rotates on axis.
If the fluid used is dangerous to people, e.g. hot fluids, protection (casing) must be applied around the coupling.
When required, lubricate the joint bearings periodically.
Inspect the coupling periodically for leaks and carry out any necessary maintenance.
